Herman F. Fox

Herman F. Fox was born February 5, 1916 to Henry and Helena Fox on the family farm. He graduated from Helvey High School on May 13, 1932. Herman was married to Theola Wiggins on May 20, 1939.

They started in farming and then in 1959 Herman began working for Farmer’s CO-OP Oil and retired from there in 1981.

He belonged to the Rotary Club, First Christian Church, and devoted himself to many years of volunteering in Fairbury and surrounding communities.

Herman and Theola enjoyed traveling in their RV and traveled to all 48 contiguous United States.

He is preceded in death by his wife Theola Wiggins, parents Henry and Helena, brother Lester and sister-in-law Dorene Fox, sister Irma Timme, brother-in-law Leland Austen, brother-in-law Lynn and sister-in-law Vadene Craig, and granddaughter Kendra Meeske.

Herman is survived by daughter Barbara and Keith Meeske, daughter Gwenda and Raymond Mackay, sister Verneda Austen, brother-in-law Kenneth Timme, six grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and many close friends.

Services will be August 31, 2016 at 10:30 am at the First Christian Church in Fairbury, with Darlene Novotny officiating. Burial in the Fairbury Cemetery. Memorials have been established to the Rotary Club or Christian Church. Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home in Fairbury in charge of arrangements.
