Ilma "Bim" Rosener

Ilma “Bim” Sophia Anna Marting was born on September 7, 1914 at Herkimer, Kansas the daughter of Rev. Henry C. and Hedwig Droste Marting. She died on March 1, 2007 at Fairbury, Nebraska at the age of 92 years, 5 months and 24 days. She was baptized on September 20, 1914 by her father, Rev. H.C. Marting at Zion
Evangelical Lutheran Church at Herkimer, Kansas. She was confirmed on April 1, 1928 by her father, Rev. H.C. Marting at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church at Herkimer, Kansas. She attended Parochial grade school and graduated from Marysville (Kansas) High School in 1932. On December 25, 1936, she was united in marriage to Donald H. Rosener at Trinity Lutheran Church at Gladstone,
Nebraska, the ceremony officiated by her father Rev. H.C. Marting. The couple then made their home on a farm near Powell, Nebraska. To this union, two
daughters were born. Ilma and Donald moved to Superior, Nebraska in 1968 and
operated a retail business. Her husband Donald passed away on June 7, 1974. She then sold her business in 1976 and moved to Fairbury. Ilma was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Fairbury.

She is survived by her two daughters, Carol Hart of Fairbury, Nebraska and Sharon Davidson and husband Orville of York, Nebraska. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 11 step-great-grandchildren, 6 step-great-great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

Ilma was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 brothers and 4 sisters.

Services will be on Monday, March 5, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at the Grace Lutheran Church in Fairbury with Pastor Charles Schmidt officiating. Burial will be in the Fairbury Cemetery.
