Iola M. Busing

Iola M. (Dibben Sims) Busing was born January 5, 1923 at Long Lane, MO the sixth of 12 children born to Charles & Sarah (Gipe) Dibben. She attended school in Missouri, Kansas and Nebraska. She graduated from Alma High School in 1942 after completing Normal Training. She taught school at a rural school north of Alma, NE 1942-43 and the primary room at Alexandria, NE 1946-47. She married Norval Wayne “Took” Sims on Sept 1, 1943. He passed away on Feb 14, 1944. They had one child, Norval Wayne Sims who was later adopted by Paul. Paul Busing and Iola were married May 17, 1947 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alexandria, NE. To this union 10 children were born. They moved to an acreage south-west of Fairbury in 1952.
She was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church where she was an active member of the Altar Society.
She is survived by sister-in-law Edna (Busing) Dein of Fairbury, NE; children: N. Wayne (Muriel) Busing of Pataskala, OH, Fred Busing of Mountain Home, ID, Nancy Lashley of Stapleton, NE; Joe (Sandra) Busing, Donna (Doug) Shultz, Mark (Diana) Busing, Bruce (Suzy) Busing, George “Bill” (Lori) Busing, Linda (Kent) Siebe, Earl Busing and special friend Deb Niemeyer and son-in-law Mark Lawrence all of Fairbury, 32 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, many nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by husband Paul Busing, daughter Patricia (Busing) Lawrence, parents Charles & Sarah Dibben, parents-in-law George and Elizabeth Busing, son-in-law Patrick Lashley, great-grand daughter Krista Medina, siblings and spouses: LeRoy & Leona Dibben, Raymond & Rosalie (Dibben) Harouff, Phillip & Dorothy Dibben, Marcus Dibben, Jess & Virginia Dibben, Albert & Billye Dibben, Joe & Betty Dibben, Russell & Leta (Dibben) Kelly, Bill & Katherin (Dibben) Dorman, Hudon and Ruth (Dibben) Byars Jr., Kent & Gerrie Busing, Bob and Clara (Busing) Babb, Steve and Mary (Busing) Decker, George Dein, nieces and nephews.

Services will be Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at 10:00 at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Fairbury with Father John Birkel officiating. Rosary will be Monday evening at 7:00 at Gerdes-Meyer Chapel in Fairbury. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery at Alexandria. Memorials will go to the Family’s Choice.
