Irene Husa 96 of Fairbury, NE. formerly of Gilead, NE., passed away October 16, 2013 at Cedarwood Assisted Living in Fairbury. She was born September 10, 1917 at Gilead, NE. to Henry & Anna (Onnen) Itzen.

Survivors are Son: Harlan Husa & Wife Tamara of Hebron, Daughters: Karen Kasprzak & Husband Charles of Nashotah, WI., Joyce Strong & Husband Alan of Pawnee City, NE., Joann Bruning & Husband David of Bruning, NE, Lois Schultz & Husband Douglas Sr. of Grand Island, NE., Emily Wolford of Omaha, NE., 14 Grandchildren, 14 Great Grandchildren, Sisters: Anna Maish, Bernice Bauer, Loretta Spidalieri, Brothers: Don Itzen, Henry Itzen.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday October 19, 2013 at the Presbyterian Church in Alexandria, with Lana Likens officiating. Burial will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the Union Cemetery south of Gilead. The family will greet friends on Friday Oct. 18th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home in Fairbury are in charge of arrangements.
