James Henry Krause, a former resident of Fairbury, NE, died at the age of 84 on August 8, 2022, at the Falls City Care Center in Falls City, NE, where he had been a resident for one year, six months and 22 days. James, better known as Jim, was born December 11, 1937, to Henry and Lucille Krause, then of rural Jansen, NE, and later moving to another farm north of Fairbury. He was raised on the farm along with his 3 brothers and one sister.
He is survived by one daughter, Brenda (Michael) Arden, of Alachua, Florida; brothers; Richard (Elinor) of Daykin, NE; Donald (Shirley) of Fairbury, NE; Gene (Diane) of North Platte, NE; sister, Marjorie (David) Wieland of Beatrice, NE. Besides his four siblings, he is also survived by seven nephews and four nieces plus numerous grand nieces and nephews.
Jim helped his dad on the farm, working in the field and keeping the buildings well painted. He also worked for Mannschreck Implement Co. of Fairbury, NE for six years, delivering farm implements. He then became self-employed, doing shingling, painting, tree trimming and yard work. He also hauled cardboard for Casey’s General Stores, in Fairbury, for several years. He also served in the National Guard for eight years.
