Janet Lynn Bridgmon (Lee), age 67, passed away peacefully at home on April 27, 2026.
Jan was born on January 15, 1959, to Howard and Martha (Yelm) Lee in Deshler, NE. As a child, she was kind and shy and spent much of her time caring for their farm animals. In her younger school years, she attended a small schoolhouse in Carleton before later attending Hebron High School, graduating in 1979.
She met the love of her life, Richard Bridgmon Sr., and they were married on June 19, 1981. Together, they built a life centered on love, devotion, and family.
She worked for many years as a CNA, served as a caregiver through Region V, and later worked with DHHS as a care provider. Her heart of gold was to serve others, as she was a strong woman of faith. She had a vibrant sense of style and loved putting together colorful outfits that reflected her personality. Jan found joy in thrifting, giving to others, and her family. She and her husband enjoyed going on lunch dates and taking short trips to nearby towns. She loved small adventures and making new friends. She was a friendly face to many and known for her sweet personality. She also loved fishing, camping, and relaxing with romantic comedies and classic sitcoms.
Jan’s warmth, humor, and loving spirit showed in her everyday life. Her family was always her top priority, and she had a special way of making people feel seen, cared for, and loved. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her son, Jason Lee; her sister, Lois Lee; her brothers, James Lee, Dale Yelm, and Lyle Lee; and her parents, Howard and Martha Lee.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Richard Bridgmon Sr.; her son, Richard Bridgmon Jr. (Chrissa); her daughter, Lisa Stevens (Christopher); and her cherished grandchildren, Leah and Ellie Bridgmon, and Jackson Stevens.
A service to celebrate Jan’s life will be held on Saturday, May 2 at 1:00 PM at Hebron Bible Church, with graveside services at Rose Hill Cemetery in Hebron and a luncheon to follow.
