Janette M Harms

Janette M. Harms 68 of Fairbury, NE. passed away December 9, 2016 at the Heritage Care Center in Fairbury. She was born August 13, 1948 to Wilber & Bernice (Schenk) Harms.

Janette was baptized 9/19/48 and confirmed in 1961 at the Trinity Lutheran Church by Gladstone, Nebraska. She was a member there until it closed in 1965 and then became a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Fairbury. She served as a teacher in Sunday School.

She attended grade school in Reynolds, Nebraska and graduated in 1968 from Fairbury High School. Then she attended Fairbury Junior College and University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Her career was in accounting. She also donated her time at the Red Cross bloodmobile.

She is survived by her mother Bernice Harms, sisters Sheila Harms and Mary Harms of Lincoln, brother Mike Harms of Fairbury and nine cousins. She was preceded in death by her father Wilber (Bill) Harms and grandparents.

Memorial services will be at 11:00 am Tuesday December 13, 2016 at Grace Lutheran Church in Fairbury, with Pastor Charles Schmidt officiating. Memorials to the Family’s Choice. Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home in Fairbury are in charge of arrangements.
