Jerry L. Rosener

Jerry Lee Rosener, 68, was born to Jack & LaNette (Corbin) Rosener on October 1, 1949 in Fairbury.  He passed away on August 30, 2018 at the Jefferson Community Health & Life Hospital.

Jerry attended Fairbury schools and graduated with the class of 1967.  He furthered his education at UNL, graduating in 1971 with a Bachelor’s degree.  During his college years he was involved with ATO fraternity, serving as president one year.

Following college Jerry spent a short time working in banking, then decided to give full attention to farming.  Jerry was a third generation farmer, who farmed with other members of the Rosener Family.  Most recently, he enjoyed farming with his son and daughter.

On December 11, 1982 he married Cindy Georgi.  They were blessed with 2 children, daughter Lisa and son Tyler.  Jerry enjoyed many things in life.  This included camping, fishing, boating, water skiing, and golfing.  Many years, he vacationed in south Texas in winter and Lake of the Ozarks in summer.

His pride and joy was his family, including 4 grandchildren (plus baby girl on the way).  He was always so proud of his family’s accomplishments.

Jerry was preceded in death by his father Jack Rosener and father-in-law Lynn Georgi.

He is survived by his wife Cindy; daughter Lisa Wilson & husband Matt of Lincoln; son Tyler Rosener & wife Mikaela of Fairbury; grandchildren Colette and Gwyneth Wilson, Hartley & Colter Rosener; mother LaNette Rosener of Fairbury; mother-in-law Evelyn Georgi of Fairbury; brother Tom Rosener & wife Rebecca of Fairbury; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at the Presbyterian Church in Fairbury with Lana Likens officiating.  The family will greet friends Monday from 4 – 5 p.m. at the Funeral Home.  Memorials will go to the Family’s Choice.  Burial in the Fairbury Cemetery.  Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home in Fairbury is in charge of arrangements.
