Jimmie E. Neal, age 75 of Reynolds, Nebraska passed away on Saturday, September 20th in Fairbury. He was born April 27, 1933 at Belleville, Kansas the son of Leonard and Dorothy Hall Neal. He graduated from Belleville High School in 1952. He attended Fort Hays State College and graduated from Emporia State College in 1958. He served our country in the military from 1954 to 1956 as a medic. He worked for the Rock Island Railroad for 15 years and retired from the State of Texas in 1998. He and his wife moved to Reynolds in 1999.
Jim was an avid gardener and especially enjoyed growing roses. He also loved both driving and watching car races and has a collection of trains and model cars.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Carolyn Neal of Reynolds, son Jimmie Neal, Jr. of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, daughter Jill Talcott of Coral Springs, Florida, 6 grandchildren, brother Jack Neal of North Glen, Colorado, a step-son Gregg Lowe of Kearney, Nebraska and mother-in-law Velma Hammer of Fairbury. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Barbara Brubaker.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Belleville, Kansas with Pastor Warren Schoming officiating. Burial will be in the Belleville City Cemetery. Memorials are to the church and American Lung Association.
