Joseph Cerveny

Joseph Elton Cerveny of Fairbury, Nebraska, the son of Edward Eugene and Bertha Huss Cerveny, died on January 13, 2007 at Keller, Texas at the age of 81 years, 5 months and 19 days. He was born on July 24, 1925 at Fairbury, Nebraska. Joe was a Fairbury city route mail carrier for the United States Post Office.

Survivors include his wife Corlyn Cerveny of Fairbury, sons Alan and wife Ann Cerveny of Lincoln, Randy and wife Niccole Cerveny of Tempe, Arizona, David and wife Melissa Cerveny of Keller, Texas, 8 grandchildren, Brandy Marie Cerveny of Holdrege, Nebraska, Samantha and husband Jamie Tilson of Holdrege, Nebraska, Steven Cerveny of Lincoln, Laura Cerveny of Lincoln, Nick Cerveny of Garden City, Kansas Derrick Cerveny of Garden City, Kansas, Brian Cerveny of Garden City, Kansas and Jacy Cerveny of Keller, Texas, 2 great grandchildren, Haley Tilson of Holdrege and Kara Cerveny of Lincoln, sister Bertha Mary and husband Don Pingel of Steele City, Nebraska, brother Edward (Gene) and wife Betty Cerveny of Mequon, Wisconsin, sisters-in-law Clairice Cerveny of Fairbury and Evelynn Cerveny of Fairbury. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Edmund and Don and infant sister Karen. Burial will be in the Union Cemetery of rural Gilead.

Services will be on Friday, January 19, 2007 at 2:30 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Fairbury with Pastor Warren Schoming officiating.
Family will greet friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
