Joyce E. Heidelk

Joyce E. Heidelk 84 of Fairbury, NE. passed away May 1, 2017 At JCH&L in Fairbury. She was born February 17, 1933 at Deshler, NE. to Guy & Ruth (McNutt) Freeman. Widow of Harry (Butch) Heidelk.

Joyce attended Hastings Teachers College and taught at Belvidere and Geneva. She married Harry Heidelk in Deshler. Joyce served as a Lay Minister at Tobias and several area churches during the past 30 years. She also was an Organist and directed Choir and Children’s Choir. Joyce served on the Blue Hill Community School Board.
She lived in Red Cloud, NE, and Blue Hill, NE before settling in Fairbury.

Survivors are Daughter: Jeanne & Mark Skidmore of Fairbury, Sons: Tom Heidelk of Lincoln, Bruce Heidelk & Mike Hoskins of Keaau, Hawaii, Jerry Heidelk of Grand Island, Daughter-in-law: Rebecca Heidelk of Grand Island, 8 Grandchildren, 1 Great Grandchild, Sister-in-law: Lucille Freeman of Lincoln.

Memorial services will be at 2:00 pm on Thursday May 4, 2017 at the United Methodist Church in Fairbury, with Pastor Doug Griger officiating. Cremation Has taken place. No Viewing. There is a register book available at the Funeral Home. Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home in Fairbury is in charge of arrangements.
