Joyce L. Jones

Joyce LaVonne Jones was born to Ardyce and Don Michener on October 12th, 1945 in Fairbury Nebraska. Surrounded by her family, she passed away on September 18th, 2015, at the age of 69, after a courageous 20-year battle with MS.

She attended Fairbury public schools, and lived in Fairbury until she moved to Hickman in 2014. Throughout her life, Joyce enjoyed bowling, baking, playing cards, painting, gambling, travelling to the Black Hills, and many activities with her beloved family. She worked at the JCHC, and then at the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office.

She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Charles Jones of Hickman (formerly Fairbury), her daughter, Tina Carstensen and husband Dan, her three grandsons, Kadan, Gavin, and Evan, all of Lincoln, and her father, Dean Seifert, of Clyde, KS, Brother-in-law & Sister-in-law Allen & Letha Jones of Fairbury, Sister-in-law Estaletta Jones of Fairbury, Nephews, Nieces, Great Nieces, and many friends all of whom will miss her dearly.

Preceded by Grandparents, Mother Ardyce Seifert, Sister Patricia Michener, Brother Bill Michener, Brother-in-law Gary Jones, Mother-in-law & Father-inlaw Evelyn & Henry Jones.

Services were held at Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home at 11:00 am on Monday, September 28th, 2015, with a reception following. A memorial fund has been set up for the family.
