June E. Wendlandt

June Elizabeth (Stauss) Wendlandt, 95,  was born to Newton & Letha (Eft) Stauss on June 6, 1925 at Gladstone, Nebraska and passed away on Wednesday May 26, 2021 at Gardenside Nursing Home.

June attended Gladstone school through the 8 ^th grade.  She married Raymond Wendlandt on April 1, 1943 in Washington, Kansas.  To them 3 children were born, Larry, Terry & Rita.

June worked at Hesteds Store in Fairbury and was a cook for Fairbury Public Schools.  She enjoyed sewing, embroidery and making quilts, playing bingo and baking pies.

June was preceded in death by her parents Newton & Letha, husband Raymond, brothers LaVere & Corwin “Bud” Stauss and nephew Ken Stauss.

She is survived by her children Larry (Terri) Wendlandt, Terry (Chris) Wendlandt of Omaha, Rita (Mike) Beachler of Fairbury, grandchildren Mitch (Kathy) Wendlandt, Michele (Tony) Urban, Brock (Julie) Wendlandt of Omaha, Dustin (Shelly) Beachler of Waverly, Colby (Kayla) of Spencer, IA, great-grandchildren Quentin, Bailey, A.J., Jackson Urban of Omaha, Jordyn, Taylor, Meah, Brady, Cori Wendlandt of Omaha, Connor & Emma Beachler of Waverly and Morgan & Austin Beachler of Spencer, IA., sister Mae Ann Martin of Willow Creek, MT, nieces and nephews.

Services will be Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Fairbury.  Viewing will begin Tuesday from 8 – 8 at the Funeral Home.  Memorials to the Family's Choice. Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements. www.gerdesmeyerfh.com
