Kenneth Ray Landenberger

Kenneth "Ray" Landenberger, age 83, of Diller passed away peacefully October 8, 2020, in Fairbury.  Ray was born October 14, 1936, to Dorothy and Clyde Landenberger in Utica. He attended school in Utica and graduated in 1956. Ray was united in marriage to Judy Kay Hans on May 15, 1960. This union was blessed with six children, Brenda, Rhonda, Michael, Stephanie, Brett, and Tracey. Ray was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Diller. In his youth, Ray loved roller skating and was quite a skilled skater. Ray's passion was driving semi. He trucked all of his life and was his happiest when on the open road in an 18-wheeler. After retiring for the last time in 2018, he enjoyed sitting outside watching the birds in his many bird feeders, riding his ATV around town, and collecting miniature semis.

Ray is survived by his wife, Judy; children, Brenda (Gail) Engleman, Rhonda (Mikel) Balderson, Michael (Auva) Landenberger, Stephanie (Craig) Scheele, Brett (Toni) Landenberger, Tracey (Susan) Landenberger; grandchildren, Claire (Johnny Rivera) Fountaine, Kendra (DJ) Thompson, Kelsey (Aaron) Brittain, Chantel (Vern) Blackwell, Bryce (Stephanie) Balderson,  Whitney (Michael) Hoffman, Tayler Millspaugh, Taylor Landenberger, Tyson Landenberger,  Kennedy Scheele, Trayson Landenberger, Andaira Landenberger; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Lee Landenberger; and sisters, Shirley Daniels, Janet Naber, Sandy Peters. He was preceded in death by parents, Clyde and Dorothy Landenberger; brothers Darrel, Neal, and Don Landenberger; and sisters Deloras Hemphill, Eunice Welch, Jean Craig; and his beloved dog, Ray Ray.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, Oct. 12, at 10:00 a.m. at Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Chapel in Fairbury with Pastor Mark Liscom officiating. Interment will be at the Prairie Home Cemetery in Diller following the service.  Family will greet friends and family, Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home in Fairbury.
