Larry A. Miller

Larry Miller, 55, formerly of Daykin, NE passed away Friday, May 8 th , 2020. He was born July 12, 1964 to Clel & Ardella Miller in Fairbury.

Larry attended grade school at Zion Lutheran School in Tobias, NE and graduated from Meridian High School in 1982.  He attended Southeast Community College in Lincoln and went on to work as a mechanic for most of his life at Skala’s OK Tire in Crete, NE and the Farmers’ Co-op in Fairbury.

Larry loved to help people with their autos and was well known as one of the best mechanics in the area.  He was also involved in several community organizations including the Daykin Volunteer Fire Dept., Daykin EMTs, Meridian School Board, St. John’s Lutheran Church Council (Daykin, NE)  and Meridian Alumni Association.  Larry especially enjoyed his involvement organizing the annual Meridian Alumni Banquet for many years with his good friend Paul Bachle.

Larry is survived by his wife Kris Miller, son Blake Miller (26), daughter Breanna Miller (20) all of Daykin, mother Ardella Miller of Lincoln, brother Lonnie (Janet) Miller of Scottsbluff, NE, sister Patty (Joe) Selig, brother Lynn Miller, brother Lyle (Kelly) Miller all of Lincoln, brother Lowell (Becky) of Papillion, NE as well as a large number of nieces and nephews.

Private family services will be held on Friday May 15 th , 2020 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Daykin with burial in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery.  Memorials are to Meridian Alumni Association in lieu of flowers.  Public viewing will be from 9 – 9 on Thursday at the funeral home.  Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. www.gerdesmeyerfh.com
