Lena K. Friesen

Lena K. Friesen, 92, formally of Jansen, Nebraska passed away on April 11, 2016 at Good Samaritan Home in Beatrice, Nebraska.

Lena was born to Peter E. and Anna (Kroeker) Friesen in Jansen on August 11, 1923.

She graduated from both Moody Bible Institute and Swedish Covenant Hospital in Chicago. Lena was an RN, studied in Belgium and served 9 years as a missionary in Africa. She worked many years at the Beatrice Mennonite and Fairbury hospitals.

Lena attended Christ Community Church in Beatrice, loved traveling, painting, quilting and many other crafts.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters and 2 brothers.

Graveside services to be held at Jansen Cemetery on Friday, April 15 at 2 p.m. Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home, Fairbury in charge of services.
