Leo E. Naiman, 81, of Fairbury, NE passed away May 30, 2018 at Heritage Care Center in Fairbury. He was born May 24, 1937 to Fred Carl Albert and Hattie Rebecca (Fleagle) Naiman at Gladstone, NE. His mother passed away when Leo was around 18 months old. Following the death of his mother – the family, including their father lived with their Paternal grandparents. When the children got older, they moved out and lived with their father.
Leo attended school in Kimball NE – graduating from Kimball High School in May of 1955. He then graduated from Isabelle Boldin School of Fashion Design in May 1958 in Kansas City, MO.
He joined the Army on March 16, 1961 and served as a Medical Worker in France and received his honorable discharge on May 31, 1965. Leo worked in the garment industry and lived in Kansas City from 1958-2013 with the exception of the time he was serving his country.
Leo loved to travel. His favorite country was China. He joked he had visited all continents except Africa and Antarctica. He loved to share stories of his travels.
Leo is survived by his nieces and nephews – Delores’s children Kathleen Bear, Michael Kroll, Ron Kroll, Marjorie’s children Gary Brown, Terry Brown, Patrick Brown and Nancy Milliam, and Glen’s children Lynn Nachtmann and Susan Layman.
Preceded in death by his parents and siblings Delores Louis, Glen Harry, Orlin Frederick and Marjorie Anna.
Graveside services will be held Monday, June 4, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Zion Countryside Cemetery – Gladstone, NE with Dr. Rev. Howard Law officiating. Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home in Fairbury is in charge of arrangements.
