February 24, 1913 — October 7, 2006

Letha Dawson of Fairbury was born on February 24, 1913 to Phil and Anna Bakewell Dawson in Endicott, Nebraska. She died on October 7, 2006 at the Gardenside Nursing Home in Fairbury at the age of 93 years, 7 months and 13 days. She spent all of her life in the Endicott and Fairbury area.
In 1933, Letha moved into the home of Morris and Helen Speir. She lived there while Meredyth and Sylvia Speir were growing up and become a beloved member of the family. Letha was also an excellent seamstress and enjoyed sewing for many residents of the area. In later years, she was active in the Leisure Club at the Endicott Methodist Church and the Lord’s Acre Celebration was one of the highlights of the year for her.
Survivors include her sister, Phyllis Campbell of El Paso, Texas, cousin Robert Bakewell and wife Jane of Endicott, nieces and nephews and a dear friend Sylvia Speir Phillips and her husband Alex of Columbia, Missouri.
Letha was a loving and caring person who was a blessing to her family and friends. She will be greatly missed.
