Lillian attended Diller schools, and graduated from Fairbury High School. Lillian was baptized in 1934 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Diller, Nebraska. She was confirmed at American Lutheran Church in Fairbury, Nebraska.

Lillian married Harold Adams on June 3 rd , 1951, and they resided on a farm south of Fairbury. The couple had 3 children, Roxy, Sandy, and Tom.
