Lillian J Meyer

Lillian J. Meyer 82 of Fairbury, NE. passed away September 12, 2017 at the Heritage Care Center in Fairbury. She was born on April 25, 1935 in the small town of Powell, NE. to Alvin & Ruth (Zabel) Kelch. She graduated from Fairbury High School in 1953 & married Eugene Meyer on April 18, of 1953. After they were married, Gene served two years in the U.S. Navy and they traveled and lived in a number of naval communities until they returned to Fairbury to farm. They farmed together for 40 years and loved living in the country. Lillian & Gene were integral parts in their children Kim (1956) & Allen (1960) lives and families. Besides her family, Lillian's favorite thing was her cat's, which were her constant companions throughout her life. Lillian was preceded in death by her parents & her husband Gene. She is survived by her three sisters: Darlene Culp of Fairbury, Doris Culp of Fairbury, & Joann Heidemann of Elkorn, NE. She is also survived by her children: Kim Salerno, her husband Terry & their two children Nick & Elizabeth of Crescent, Iowa; and Allen Meyer, his wife Lisa, son Robert of Fairbury and their daughter Samantha Goodrich, her husband Nate and their son Max of Lincoln, NE.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday September 15, 2017 at Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home Chapel in Fairbury, with Lana Likens officiating. Memorials to the Cat Adoption Center. Burial at the Fairbury Cemetery-Fairbury, NE. Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home in Fairbury are in charge of arrangements.
