Linda Ann Bonow

June 30, 1942 — January 2, 2019

Linda Ann (Mallonee) Bonow was born 6/30/42 in Fremont, Nebraska to Verne & Doris (Long) Mallonee.  She graduated from Fremont High School and attended Nebraska Wesleyan University where she was a member of the Phi Mu Sorority.

She began working at Little Audrey's Transportation as a bookkeeper in Fremont and in January 1962 married Daryl Bonow.  They moved to Peru, Nebraska where she was the Campus School (K-12) secretary while her husband finished college.  In January 1964 they moved to Table Rock, NE where her husband taught and coached for one semester and their first child was born.

In August 1964 they moved to McCook, NE where her husband taught and coached and their other two children were born.  During her thirty four years in McCook, Linda worked part-time for EFD Package Express, McCook Daily Gazette and Quality Bookkeeping and was active in Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.

Linda moved to Fairbury, Nebraska in 1998 and was employed at Union Bank and Trust until retiring in 2008.  She always enjoyed home renovating projects, crafts, and needlework as well as her grandchildren and two little Shi Tzu dog "children."

Survivors include her children:  Trisha (Ron) Hansen of Fremont, NE, Trent (Cynthia) Bonow of Kemah, TX, and Taylor (Tony) Biehl of Fairbury, NE; eight grandchildren, two step-grandsons, two great grandchildren; sister Joanne Baier of Wayne, NE and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

An open house celebration of life will be held Saturday, January 5th from 2-5 p.m. at the home of Linda, 806 7th Street.
