Lois Marie Muller

Lois Marie Muller was born August 24, 1934 in rural Marshall County, Kansas to William A. and Matilda Edith Marie Gerberding Genschorck. Lois joined family in Heaven on January 15, 2026 with family by her side.

Following the death of her father in 1938, she moved with her Mother and two older brothers to Beatrice, Nebraska. In 1945, Lois and her brother Glen were adopted by her step-father Reinhold Klotz. Lois graduated from Beatrice High School in 1952. In 1953, she moved to Fairbury, Nebraska to be secretary to Judge Gallamore in the County Judge’s office from 1953 to 1955.

Lois married William A. Muller on January 17, 1955 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church. To this union 4 children were born. They lived on a farm west of Fairbury until 1960 when they moved to Fairbury. After moving to town, Lois worked for Sheriff Frank Knoche as the first office secretary from 1961–1962. In 1966, Lois started working at Smitty’s Furniture in Jansen and retired after 31½ years as bookkeeper. After retirement, Lois enjoyed doing part-time bookkeeping work for St. Michael’s Church. Lois was a member of St. Michael’s PCCW – Past President and Past Head of Funeral dinners. Lois enjoyed Bowling, Casino Bus Trips, yearly fishing to Minnesota and watching her grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews in their sports activities. Lois moved to Cedarwood Assisted Living in September of 2018. She has enjoyed their many activities and making new friends.

Lois is survived by children: Joyce Ambrose of Jansen, Keith Muller (Lori L.) of Wilber, Joan Warnke (Lawrence) of Fairbury, and Scott Muller (Lori A.) of Lincoln. Grandchildren – Becky (Lance) Borgman, Odessa Ambrose, Nick (Heidi) Warnke, Heath (Nikki) Muller, Ahren Ambrose (Chesley), Joshua (Kellie) Muller, Jared Warnke, Tyrell (Samantha) Muller, Jordan Muller, Seth (Danielle) Ambrose, and Katie (Cameron) McCulley, Joanie Warnke, and Christopher Warnke. 27 Great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Also survived by sister-in-laws: Janet Klotz of Aurora, Colorado, Betty LeCuyer of Morrowville, Kansas. Many nieces and nephews, a host of friends and extended family.

Preceded in death by husband William A. Muller (2015), mother Matilda Naylor, father William Genschorck, adopted father Reinhold Klotz, step-father William Naylor. Brothers Kenneth Genschorck and Glen C. Genschorck (Klotz), Nephew Steve Klotz. In-laws – Bernard and Mary Ann Muller, Anna Margaret and Charles Steele, Patrick L’Ecuyer, Marie Kathryn Muller, son-in-law Phillip Ambrose, and step sisters and step brothers.

Family and friends are invited to gather at Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home for visitation with the family on January 20th from 5:00–7:00 p.m. A Rosary will follow at 7:00 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Fairbury, Nebraska on January 21st at 10:30 a.m. A luncheon will follow the service. Burial will take place after the luncheon at Evergreen Cemetery in Beatrice, Nebraska.
