Lorene Margaret Hindman

Lorene Margaret Tuma Hindman, 93, passed away on Saturday May 3, 2014 in Fairbury NE.  She was born January 25, 1921 on a farm in Thompson, NE. to Joe and Emma (McFarland) Tuma.  She attended country school district 53 and 37.

She married Norwood Junker and they had one daughter, Janice Marie.  In 1942, she married Charles Johnson Hindman in Chadron, NE..  They moved south of Reynolds when Charles returned from the service and moved to Fairbury in 1962.  Charles and Lorene accepted into their home the joy of raising and schooling their seven year old nephew, Myrle Hindman.  Lorene worked at Jefferson Memorial Hospital until her mother fell ill.  She was baptized in Mahaska, KS at the Presbyterian Church and then later transferred to the Fairbury Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include daughter, Janice M. Davis of Loveland, CO.,  Grandson, Tobin K. Fiser and wife, Michele of Flagstaff, AZ.,  three great-grandchildren, Scott Fiser and wife Annie of Ada, MI., Kristin Fiser-Stribling and husband Matt of Flagstaff, AZ., and Travis Fiser and wife Heather also of Flagstaff AZ., and five great-great grandchildren, Tavin Hayden, Julie, Brynn and Lukas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Emma Tuma, husband, Charles Hindman and nephew Myrle Hindman.

Services will be held at the Presbyterian Church in Fairbury, Nebraska on Thursday, May 8, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Steve Frazier officiating, with a luncheon to follow.  Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home in Fairbury is in charge of the arrangements.
