Loretta D. Stohs

Loretta (Adam) Stohs, age 83 of Odell, passed away on Tuesday, April 12th at the Good Samaritan Society in Beatrice, NE. She was born November 20, 1932 in Odell, NE and graduated from Odell High in 1950.

After attending business school in Kansas City, she returned home and married Wilbur Stohs on February 21, 1955. Her life-long passions were cooking for her family and quilting.

Loretta was an Avon representative for 33 years and loved visiting with all the people in the community. In addition, she was a bus driver for the Odell Grade School transporting Kindergarten children and spent many hours baking and decorating wedding cakes. She was a life-long member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lanham, KS and an active Ladies Aid member holding various offices.

Survivors include husband, Wilbur of Beatrice, sons, Ken (Tammy) of Olathe, KS, Duane (Bobbi) of Beatrice, NE, Gary (Karen) of Odell, NE, Darrell (Janie) of Omaha, NE, and Les (Dawn) of Ankeny, IA, grandchildren, Preston (Abbey), Micaela, Tyler, Tara, Quincey (Laci), Crystal (Robin), Teanna, Shade, DaileeJo, Adam (Stacey), Kyle, Ethan, Emily, Hannah, and Abbey, great grandchildren, Addisyn and Kaisen, sisters-in-law, Velora Adam and Verona Stohs, aunt Sophia Fuchs, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, August and (Altji) Minnie (Duis) Adam, brothers, Paul, Walter, Ervin, and Albert, and sisters, Lucille and Martha.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 14th from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m., with family being present from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Friday, April 15th from 9:00 a.m.– 12:00 p.m. at the Vance-Gerdes Funeral Home in Odell. Funeral services will be at 3:00 on April 15th at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lanham, Kansas with burial in the church cemetery immediately following. Memorials established to the family’s choice.
