Lorraine Sue Mccown

Lorraine Sue (Baete) McCown, 73, caring mother, grandmother, sister, and friend passed on September 16, 2023 in Beatrice, Nebraska.

She was born to Adolf Baete and Edith (Hermle, Baete) Fairbanks on June 19, 1950. She graduated from Beatrice High School in 1968. Her life was one focused on service and care to others through her work at the Good Samaritan Society in Beatrice and Region V Services in Fairbury.

Lorraine is survived by her three children, Shawn [son] and Donna McCown; Jason [son] and Darnelle McCown; and Malisa [daughter] McCown and her husband Joe Okimi; four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, her siblings and extended family, and her beloved cat, Tivy (17 years).

She is preceded in death by her parents, Adolf Baete and Edith (Hermle, Baete) Fairbanks, and her son Tad McCown.

Services will be held September 24th, 2023 at 1 p.m at the Fairbury Seventh-Day Adventist church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Beatrice Humane Society and the Good Neighbor Center in Lincoln, Nebraska.
