Lucille Evelyn Pralle was born on March 20, 1930 on the family farm south of Odell, Nebraska, the daughter of Henry Bartels and Algetta (Gastmann) Bartels. She received her gift of eternal life on Sunday, January 29, 2017 while a patient at Hanover Long Term Care. She was 86 years, 10 months, and 9 days old.
Lucille was Baptized into the Christian faith on March 30, 1930 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Bremen, Kansas by the Rev. John V. Kaufelt. Her sponsors were Viola Gastmann and Elfrieda Lampe.
On April 2, 1944 she was Confirmed in her faith at Zion Lutheran Church, Hanover by the Rev. C.R. Goldstein.
Lucille graduated from the 8th Grade at the Sun Rise School. She attended 2 years of High School at Hanover.
Lucille was united in marriage on October 29, 1950 to Reuben D. Pralle. The service was held at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Lanham, by the Rev. Arthur W. Huneke.
Lucille transferred her membership from Our Savior’s Lutheran, Odell, to Trinity Lutheran Church, Hanover, in December 2010.
She was a homemaker, helping her husband on the family farm. She also worked as a nurses aid in Marysville, worked at the Lutheran Hospital in Beatrice, and at BSDC in Beatrice.
Her hobbies included crocheting, quilting, and doing crossword and word search puzzles. As a couple Lucille and Reuben loved to go hunting small game, Reuben carrying a 410 shotgun and Lucille the 16 gauge.
Lucille was preceded in death by her parents: Henry and Algetta; by her husband: Reuben; by her daughter: Beth Marie Pralle; by her son: Keith Pralle; by her Granddaughter: Ashley Pralle; and by her Great Grandson: Micah Newman, and 2 Great-Granddaughters Caitlyn and Claire Harvey. She was preceded in death by her brother: Arlen Bartels; by her Step-mother: Evelyn Bartels; by her Brothers-in-law: Ralph, Art, Ed, and Ray Pralle, Lester Tuttle, and Jim Boyd; by her Sisters-in-Law: Adelia Pralle, Lilo Pralle; Olinda Boyd; and Elaine Bartels.
Lucille is survived by her children: daughter Debra Schramm and her husband Gary of Odell; daughter Linda Alm and her husband Gary of Crab Orchard, Nebraska; by her son Michael Pralle and his wife Patty of Kennett Square, Pennsylvania; by her son Jon Pralle and his wife Gina of Hanover; and by her daughter Kathy King and her husband Brend of Wathena, Kansas. She is survived by sister: Linda Pralle of Wymore, Nebraska; by her Sister-in-Law: Della Tuttle of Beatrice; by her Brother-in-law: Norman Pralle and his wife Carol of Cheyenne, Wyoming. Lucille is survived by 17 Grandchildren, 20 Great-Grandchildren, and by 1 Great-Great Grandchild. She is survived by her nieces, nephews and her many, many friends.
We give thanks to the Lord for all of His blessings poured out upon Lucille during her life, and especially for His merciful gift of eternal life in Heaven, that Lucille now enjoys, through faith in Jesus Christ her Lord.
Services will be at 10:00 am Saturday February 4, 2017 at Trinity Lutheran Church-Hanover, KS., with Pastor Rodney Fritz officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 6:30 pm at Vance-Gerdes Funeral Home in Odell on Friday February 3rd. Memorials to the Church. Vance-Gerdes Funeral Home in Odell is in charge of arrangements.
