Lyle L. Danner

Lyle LeRoy Danner, 90, of Fairbury, Nebraska passed away peacefully June 19, 2023, at Heritage Care Center, Fairbury. He was born July 9, 1932, to Florence (Baker) and Floyd Danner in Fairbury.

After school Lyle worked for the Rock Island RR. He married his sweetheart, Donna Mae Hellyer in 1951.  To this union two children were born, Alan and Theresa.

Lyle was drafted into the Army in 1952. After gunnery school, he served with Battery B 11th field artillery Battalion in Korea.  Lyle was awarded a National Defense Medal, Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, and Good Conduct Medal.

Lyle worked a few jobs but spent most of his working years at Peterson’s Manufacturing as an inspector.

He was hardworking, friendly, social and had a great sense of humor.

Lyle is survived by his daughter Theresa Do of Lincoln, NE, brother Floyd (Shirley) of Abilene, KS, 6 Grandchildren, 12 Great-Grandchildren, and 5 Great-Great-Grandchildren.

Lyle is preceded in death by his wife Donna Mae, parents, 3 brothers, son, and son-in-law.

Services will be Friday, June 23, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Gerdes-Meyer Chapel in Fairbury.  Memorials to Family’s Choice. Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements. www.gerdesmeyerfh.com
