Marguerite B Kostal

Marguerite B. (Keller) Kostal was born on August 5, 1917 in Marshal County, KS. She died on March 2, 2017 at Clarkson Tower Hospital in Omaha, NE at the age of 99. She was the fourth child in a family of nine children of Rosa (Rutti) & Fred Keller.
In March, 1919 the family moved to a farm northeast of Bremen, KS where she spend her childhood. She attended rural school Dist. 21 then graduated from Marysville High School in 1935. She taught 2 years in rural schools before marrying Stephen E. Kostal of Odell in 1937. They resided on the Kostal home place southwest of Odell. To this union three children were born Marilyn, Steven and Lorene. Marguerite was a member of the Odell United Methodist church, United Methodist Women. She served in various offices for many years.

In 1977 she and Stephen moved into a new home they built on the edge of Odell. In January 1980 Stephen passed away. In the following years Marguerite spent her time oil painting, doing needlework and helping her family in any way she could. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren at their sporting events and school activities. She loved the Lord and her family above all else. Among her hobbies were reading, embroidery, oil painting and especially spending time with her family. She was a kind and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother.

She is survived by her children Marilyn Yeck of Omaha, Steven and wife Fern Kostal of Odell, Lorene Pruitt of Warrenton, MO, 10 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, 16 great-great-grandchildren, brother & sister-in-law Walter (Adelade) Keller of Borger, TX, sister-in-law Wilma Keller of Beatrice and a host of nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Stephen, sisters and brothers-in-law Alice (John) Klataske, Alma (Lonnie) Lemmon, Lillian (Mike) Loth, brothers & sisters-in-law Jake (Viola) Keller, Ivan (Gertrude) Keller, Vincent Keller, Warren Keller, great-great-grandson Gavin Forney.

Services will be Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Odell, NE, with Pastor Curt Magelky officiating. The family will greet friends at the Vance-Gerdes Funeral Home in Odell on Monday evening from 5:00 – 7:30. Vance-Gerdes Funeral Home in Odell is in charge of arrangements.
