Marie H. Kosmacek

Marie H. Kosmacek of Jansen, NE passed away on June 10th at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Wymore, NE.. Marie was born May 11, 1938 to Milton and Gertrude Myers in Baltimore Maryland. She was raised by the Adam and Jenny Anspancher family in Pennsylvania.

Marie married Norman Day Sr. in 1960 and they had 6 children. Son Norman P. Day Jr. and Debra Dukes of Lincoln, daughter Mary K. Rhoden of Lincoln, daughter Sherrie Smid and husband Dale of Lincoln, daughter Cecelia Ackman and Craig Dittmar of Seward, daughter Carolyn Harris and John Henry of Mahaska KS, and son David Day and Emily of Bullhead City Arizona.

Marie married Frank Kosmacek Jr. on March 17, 1995 in Fairbury NE and they were married for 21 years. They lived in Jansen, NE.

She worked in nursing for several years. She liked to embroider and cross stitch. She loved talking to everybody, and she always treated strangers like family.

Marie is remembered by her husband Frank Kosmacek Jr., her 6 children, 17 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren. Sisters Elsie Myers, Madalyn Atwood, Rita Crabb, and Catherine Johnson, and numerous nieces and nephews all in the Baltimore Maryland area. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, 2 sisters, first husband Norman Day Sr., granddaughter Carrie Day, and grandson Kenneth Rhoden.

Visitation will be Wednesday June 15, 2016 at Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home in Fairbury from 5:00pm to 9:00pm. Thursday from 9:00am to 9:00pm. with a Rosary at 7:00pm.

Funeral Services will be held Friday June 17th at 11:00am at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Fairbury NE. Burial will follow at 3:00pm at the cemetery in Blue Hill Nebraska. Memorials have been established to the church in Fairbury.
