Marjorie R. Schroeder

Marjorie R. (Marje) Schroeder (nee Shuey), age 93, of Crown Point, IN, formerly of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on May 4, 2013.

Marjorie was the daughter of George F. and Mary Shuey of Fairbury. She graduated from Fairbury High School in 1936. In 1940 she married Kenneth B. Schroeder also of Fairbury. During their married life they lived predominantly in Lakewood Colorado, Omaha, Nebraska, and Albuquerque, New Mexico where they retired before moving to Indiana to be near family.

Marjorie was a member of Our Lady of Consolation Catholic Church in Merrillville, Indiana. She was a loving mother, who was active in her children's activities and schools during their growing years. Admired for her beauty and style, Marjorie was always the gracious hostess. With her husband, she was a world traveler, avid bridge player and ballroom dancer.

Marjorie is survived by her daughter, Sally (Allan) Nalbor; 2 sons: Stephen (Kay) Schroeder and Warren (Jeannie) Schroeder; 6 grandchildren: Daniel Nalbor, Andy (Jaclyn) Schroeder, Abby (Jacob) Reid, Krista (Nickson) Clendenen, and twins, Karl & Everett Schroeder; and great-grandchild, Parker Reid. She is also survived by lifelong friend, Laura Gardner of Fairbury. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Kenneth Schroeder.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Fairbury with Father John Birkel officiating. Burial will be in the Fairbury Cemetery.
