Marlene Martha Johnson

Marlene Martha (Morris) Johnson was born April 12, 1932, in Franklin, NE to Arthur and Anette Morris.

She went to her heavenly home on August 3, 2023, in Fairbury, Nebraska at the age of 91 years, 3 months and 22 days.

Marlene married George H. Johnson on August 1, 1953, in Campbell, NE. Together they raised four children, Archie, Catherine, Larry and Carol. George and Marlene spent their life together farming. In 1963 they settled in rural Fairbury to continue farming.

Marlene was a great cook, and everyone enjoyed her meals. Being on the farm was her greatest joy. She lived her remaining years in town taking pride in her house and flowers and enjoyed her family and dog companions. Her smile and friendly greetings will be missed by many.

Marlene was preceded in death by her parents, husband George, son-in-law Gary Schafer, son Arthur L’Heureux, and sister Arnette.

She will be greatly missed by her children, Cathy and husband Alvin Endorf of Daykin, Carol and husband Jeff Kujath of Fairbury, Larry and wife Darla Johnson of Lincoln, special cousin Janet Karenbauer, grandchildren Rachael (John) Fischer, Nicole (BJ) Zalesky, Jason (Sharon) L’Heureux, Jennifer (Glen) Wilson, Jill (Jason) Oldehoeft, Jamie (Candy) Kujath, Melanie (Cameron) Moore, Cameron Johnson, Alysha Johnson and 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild, nieces and friends.

A Private Family Graveside service will be held. Memorials will go to the Family’s Choice. Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.  www.gerdesmeyerfh.com
