Mary Eisenhauer
Fairbury, Neb. – Mary Eisenhauer, 78, of Fairbury passed away Friday, November 8, 2019, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lincoln with her entire family by her side.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 13, 2019, at American Lutheran Church in Fairbury. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home in Fairbury, Neb.
Mary was born June 25, 1941, in Butte, Neb., to John and Florence (Primus) Staples. She grew up in the Butte area and graduated from Butte High School in 1959.
She married Donald L. Eisenhauer on December 7, 1963 in Thorton, Co. The couple settled in Bloomfield, Neb. The family moved to Oklahoma in 1978, then to Kansas in 1988. In 1994 they moved to Fairbury, Neb. Family was important to her. She was Mother Mary or Grandma Mary to those who knew and loved her. She loved gardening and especially cooking. Nothing was more coveted than her cinnamon rolls, with her fried chicken being a close second. Although she loved all holidays, Christmas was her favorite. This was evident by the many Christmas trees, fully adorned with decorations and ornaments throughout the house.
She is survived by her husband Don, sons Steven Eisenhauer, Jon (Karen) Eisenhauer, Brad Eisenhauer and Billie Kay. Daughters Anita Eisenhauer, Tami Eisenhauer, Kelli (Mitch) Heidemann, grandchildren Richard Duenas, Erica and Kanani Eisenhauer, Tyler Eisenhauer, Brook Eisenhauer and fiancé Caleb Vonderfecht, Connor, Natalie, Bridget and Grant Heidemann, and three great-grandchildren. Three brothers, Cecil (Judy) Staples, Jerry Staples, Milo (Judy) Staples, and sister-in-law Leitha Eisenhauer.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Chester Staples, sister Jacqueline Clausen, sister-in-laws Connie Staples and Melba Eisenhauer, brother-in-law Dale Eisenhauer and daughter-in-law Bernadette.
