Mary Ann Muller

Mary Ann Muller was born on the farm near Reynolds, Nebraska on April 11, 1933. She entered Heaven’s gates on December 18, 2016.

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Mary Ann enjoyed attending the sporting events of her husband, children, and grandchildren. She was a friend to many. Her warm personality and ability to hold a conversation with anyone, made others feel special and led to many lasting relationships. Mary Ann could often be found in the kitchen preparing meals and treats for family and friends from recipes she had collected over the years. Mary Ann had an unwavering faith in God. She was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Fairbury as well as the Fairbury American Legion Auxiliary.

In her early life, Mary Ann attended rural schools, District 94 and District 79, before graduating from Fairbury High School. At age 19, Mary Ann was united in marriage to Bernard Muller on October 15, 1952. They resided on the farm near Jansen, Nebraska where they raised two children, Anthony and Susan. While Bernard operated the farm, Mary Ann worked as the Clerk of the Jefferson County Courthouse, then transitioned to working for the County Sheriff’s department. Following her public service, she became the secretary of the Fairbury Elks Lodge No. 1203, where she held that post for 40 years and greatly enjoyed the company of the members.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years, Bernard Muller, her parents Joseph and Helen (Cacak) Pavlicek, and her daughter-in-law Loretta Muller. Mary Ann is survived by her children Anthony Muller (Angela), Milford, Susan Ebke (Darrell), Lincoln; six grandchildren, Brett Muller (Heather), Milford, Kelsey Selting (Brian), Elgin, Jim Ebke (Kelsey), Lincoln, Natalie Ebke (engaged to Ryan Massa), Omaha, Paxton Folkerts, Davenport, Chandler Folkerts, Milford, and three great-grandchildren Braelynn Muller, Carter, and Kinley Selting. She is also survived by her sister, Eleanor Seggerman, Fairbury; sister-in-law, Lois Muller, Fairbury; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Pat and Betty L’Ecuyer, Morrowville, KS as well as many nieces and nephews.

The Rosary Service will be held on Wednesday, December 21 at 6:30 p.m. at Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home in Fairbury, NE. Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, December 22, 10:30 a.m., at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 807 F Street, Fairbury, NE. Burial and luncheon to follow. All are welcome to attend.
