Matthew C. Pittman

Matthew Christopher Pittman, 41, of Beatrice, passed away April 11, 2022 at his home.  He was born on December 30, 1980 to Peggy Galloway and Chris Pittman in Beatrice.

Matthew is survived by his mother, Peggy (Tim) Galloway, brothers Jeffrey (Montana) Gaston and Michael (Kelsey) Gaston, stepfather Dennis Gaston, Grandmothers Betty Edwards and Marlene Pittman, nephew Maddex Gaston, nieces Maelee Gaston and Marlowe Gaston, Uncles Dana (Kim) Pittman, Mark (Ginger) Pittman, Jim (Rose) Pittman and David Vail, and many cousins.

Preceding him in death, his father, Chris Pittman and Grandfathers Charles Pittman and Corden Vail and uncle, Danny Vail.

Matthew had a big heart. He loved his family and friends – and his cat. Although sometimes it was hard for him to show it. He enjoyed laughing and having a good time. The friends who made him laugh and loved him for who he was brought happiness to him.

He worked at several places over the years. He delivered papers as a kid and worked at Griffey’s in Fairbury during high school and for his grandpa’s construction company, Pittman Construction, along side his dad, uncles, cousin and grandpa. Later, he worked at Exmark Manufacturing and Schottler’s in Beatrice.

Matthew loved food. He was a great cook. He was very picky about making things from recipes – everything had to be exactly as stated.

He spent many weekends at his mom & Tim’s and Grandma Betty’s riding his motorcycle down the country roads for hours. He found great peace down those country roads.

Services will be at Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home in Fairbury, on Friday, April 15, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
