Max L. Houser age 79 of Fairbury passed away September 29, 2016 at the Crete Hospital. He was born August 4, 1937 in Fairbury, to Clara Zlab Houser and Louis C. Houser.
Max graduated from Daykin High School in 1955. From 1955 to 1957 he attended Fairbury College studying pre-agriculture. He was also a guard on the Bomber football squad. Max attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln from 1957-1961 earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture. After college, Max worked at the Wilson Packing plant in Omaha. He returned to the family farm in 1967 upon the death of his father.
He is survived by his wife Elsie, son Charles and wife Carol of Omaha, daughter Teresa and 4 grandchildren Jessie, Benjamin, Natasha and Sarah all of Beatrice.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Grace Lutheran Church in Fairbury. Burial will be in the Grace Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials are to the church and family's choice. The family will greet friends on Monday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home.
