Maxine Wienke

Virginia Maxine Cook Wienke, age 90 of Fairbury, born March 22, 1926,
passed away October 19, 2016 at Gardenside LTC in Fairbury.

Maxine was a stay at home mom until 1966, when she started work for
Lally's, a local garment factory. She worked there until 1972. From
there, she worked for Swingster Co. from 1972 until she retired in
1991.
During her retirement, she enjoyed growing flowers, roses especially,
cooking, knitting, sewing, needlepoint, listening to swing era music,
and was one of the founding members of the local quilter's guild.

She was preceded in death by her father, Alvin Cook and mother Hazel
Potter Cook.

Survived by her children, Dorothy Herrs, Kay Wienke, Brian Wienke,
Gwen Roireau and Kim Wienke, 7 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Friday, October 28, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at
Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home with Darlene Novotny officiating. Memorials will go to the Family's Choice.
