Michael Thomas Garner

Michael Thomas Garner was an honest hardworking family man. Born December 17, 1984, to Robert & Pamela Garner; he was ambitious and good-natured even as a child.

After moving to Hubbell, NE in 1995, Mike graduated from Deshler High School in 2003. He then met his wife in 2005 and for two decades they shared dreams, overcame obstacles and built a beautiful life together, until passing away April 2, 2025.

As an avid hunter & fisherman, he enjoyed being outdoors & experiencing life with his family. He was a good friend to many and could always light up a room with his witty humor & contagious smile.

He is preceded in death by his mother Pamela; grandparents, Leland & Joan Garner; grandma, Judy Bailey; uncles David & Parkey Garner; aunt Patricia Bailey; a niece & three nephews.

He is survived by his loving wife Lena, four daughters, Emily Parker, MaiLee, Lydia & Evelyn Garner; father Robert Garner, spouse Christy, sister Melissa Patterson, spouse Chris & their two children, Katelyn & Riley; brother Matthew Garner, spouse RaeAnne & his daughter Baley; step-brother & sister Jeremiah & Kelsey; grandpa Thomas Bailey, spouse Natalie; uncle Larry Garner, spouse Marsha; aunt Sharon Allgood & many beloved nieces & nephews, cousins & extended family.

Please join us for services & a light lunch. There will be a testimonial portion for anyone that would like to speak. We ask everyone to come as you are, or wear his favorite sports team, the Nebraska Huskers. The family will be greeting friends Tuesday, April 8th from 5 – 7 at Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home (2414 H Street in Fairbury) with a Rosary at 7:00. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at 1p.m. at Gerdes Meyer Funeral Home. A luncheon will be served after the service at the Presbyterian Church (2310 H St.), followed by Interment at Rosehill Cemetery in Hebron. Memorials will go to the Family’s Choice.
