Norma Jo Kimes, age 83, passed away on July 18, 2022. She was born at home on August 27, 1938 in Washington, Kansas, to the late John and Audrie G. (Gould) Andrews. Norma, affectionately known as “GiGi” by her great-grandchildren, grew up in the Glenwood and Council Bluffs area. In 2016, she moved to Yukon, Oklahoma, and since 2018 she lived in Zeigler, Illinois. Besides her parents, Norma was preceded in death by sister, Alma Nixon. She is survived by five siblings, Opal (Galen) Brandon, Karl Andrews, Charlie Andrews, Darrell (Deb) Andrews, and Barbara (Roger) Kissel; four children, Randy Hughes, Omaha, Nebraska, Nellie J. (Nathan) Harper, Zeigler, Joe (Christina) Hughes, North Chesterfield, Virginia, and Lee (Brenda) Hughes, Boerne, Texas; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends. Graveside Service and Inurnment will be at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, September 24, 2022, at the Hollenberg Cemetery, in Hollenberg, Kansas. The family will meet at the Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home in Fairbury at 9:30 a.m. to travel in procession to the cemetery. After the service, a luncheon will be provided at the Washington Christian Church, Washington, Kansas.
