Norma Jean Lee

Norma Jean Lee passed away on 03/02/2024 at the age of 90.  She was born October 16, 1933, and was one of six children born to Wilbur and Goldie Wright of Fairbury Nebraska.  She lived her early years in the Fairbury area and attended Fairbury High School.

She married Wayne Earl Lee of Alexandria, Nebraska on June 30, 1951. To their union was born 4 children. Cheryl K. Bilich, Wayne E. Lee Jr., Linda S. Springer, and Steven W. Lee.

Norma and Wayne Lived in the Fairbury area until 1960 when they moved to the Los Angeles, California area.  In 1968 they moved from California to Lincoln, Nebraska where they lived until 1979 when they then moved to Denver, Colorado.  Her husband Wayne passed away on October 6, 2013.  In March of 2018, Norma moved from Denver, Colorado to Fairbury, Nebraska to live near her daughter Linda Springer.

Norma was a homemaker as well as worked various jobs outside the home throughout her life.  She was very active and enjoyed camping, gardening, bicycle riding, daily walks and her true love was her dogs.  She always had a dog in her home which was always a loved member of the family.  Norma and Wayne enjoyed riding motorcycles and took a few memorable road trips with Wayne being the driver and Norma riding on the seat behind him.

Norma leaves behind to cherish her memory her beloved children. Cheryl and husband Carl Bilich of St. Petersburg, Florida, Wayne Jr. and wife Shelly Lee of Lincoln, Nebraska, Linda Springer of Fairbury, Nebraska, Steven and partner Tabatha Lee of Fairbury, Nebraska, Brother Gary and wife Judy Wright of Lincoln, Nebraska, Sister Jackie Hosack of Lincoln, Nebraska, Sister in-law’s Glenda Wright of Lincoln,  Nebraska, Betty Smith of Fairbury, Nebraska, Patty Simacek of Fairmont Nebraska,  9 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and several Nieces and Nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held March 23, 2024 at 923 G Street in Fairbury between 1 - 4 p.m. Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home assisted with arrangements. www.gerdesmeyerfh.com
