Orlo Harold Lane was born July 27, 1932, at Corning, Arkansas to Harol and Gladys (Mulencamp, Webster) Lane. Harold was raised in the hills of Arkansas and Missouri. He enjoyed playing music with his family from an early age and all through his life. He played in Branson with the Presley’s for a while and many bands around this area.
Orlo Harold Lane served our country in the U.S. Army for 2 years, surviving a plane crash landing.
Harold had two sons from a previous marriage, Dennis, and Mike Lane.
On Dec. 5, 1981, he married Marjorie Simmons Huffman, gaining 3 more sons, Leo, Lyle, and Larry Huffman. Harold and Marge lived in KC for 10 years after the boys were grown. Harold worked on Drum Farm helping with boys who didn’t have family or had been in trouble. Moving back to Fairbury, he did carpenter work and road construction. Harold and Marge enjoyed spending time at their lake lot south of KC, traveling in their big van, often accompanied by in-laws Betty, Estel and Melvin.
Harold was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie; parents, Harol & Gladys Lane; son, Mike Lane; Granddaughter, Allison Huffman; brothers, Carl Lane, Ted Lane, and Eugene Webster; sisters, Dorothy Yeates, Rosie Schmidt, Reva Melton, Velma Prodince, Martha, and baby Lillian; brothers and sisters-in-law, Lonnie & Alberta Simmons, Bob Fikar, Ervin Jensen, Betty & Ken Edwards; Nephews, Danny Vail, Clayton Edwards, and Mathew Pittman.
Harold is survived by his sons Dennis Lane (Jody) of Fordland, Missouri, Leo Huffman II of Fairbury, Lyle Huffman (Janice) of Grand Prairie, Texas, Larry Huffman of Fairbury. Brother and Sister-in-law Melvin & Estel Edwards; close family friend, Shirley Achtemeier; and many nieces and nephews.
