Patricia Florence Kapke was born on June 27, 1953 in Beatrice, NE at the Lutheran Hospital to Etta and Willard Jurgens. She was raised in Beatrice. She graduated high school from Lincoln Southeast. She spent a short time in the army with honorable discharge. She was a well-rounded, hardworking woman. She was shoveling concrete for the Kellwood plant, she was a concrete finisher, and she met Barry when he was driving truck working for consolidated sand and gravel. They dated for a couple of years before uniting in marriage on October 4, 1974. She sold real estate for a couple of years. Worked at the brickyard for many years.
She went to college in her 40s. She first went to SCC Beatrice for associate degree in psychology/sociology. Then she went to Peru for her Bachelors degree in psychology/sociology. She went to UNL for one year as well for psychology/sociology. She went to Montana to get her master degree in same. She volunteered in Geneva at the women’s correctional facility. They lived in town for ten years before moving out to the farm. Sold real estate for a couple of years before being a full time farm wife and helping on the farm. Her goal in life was to raise a happy and healthy family. She enjoyed cross stitching, crocheting, seeing the mountains, trout fishing, enjoyed the 4th and watching fireworks. She loved gardening and having flowers. She especially enjoyed watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow up and spend time with them.
She is survived by her siblings Cheryl (Don) Meints of Corinth, Mississippi; Sharon Jurgens of Beatrice; her son Jason Kapke and Heath(Tracy) Kapke, grandchildren, Felicia Beebe, Tera (Garrett) Kapke, Katelin (Greg) Borch, Morgan Kapke, Teagan Kapke, Mikayla Rosenthal, and Dylan (Shaye) Crannell, Great grand children Carter Beebe, Addison Markham, Carson Beebe, Parker Beebe, Reed Markham, Bentley Rosenthal, Piper Beebe, Paisley Borch, Briar Rosenthal, Maverick Borch, and Willow Crannell.
She is preceded in death by her mother Etta Kruger, father Willard M. Jurgens, brother Eugene “Butch” W Jurgens, and great-grandson Finley.
