Patsy Ruth Dittmar, age 88 succumbed to her battle with cancer and went to be with the Lord on May 29, 2023. Patsy resided in Fairbury NE.
Patsy was born in Hebron, NE and initially lived with her parents and fathers’ parents on a farm near Stoddard, NE. Soon thereafter they moved to Belvidere and lived on a farm with her mother's parents. She attended 5 years of elementary school in a one-room school located on the corner of their farm. When that closed, she finished grade school in the Belvidere School System and graduated from high school there in 1953.
She married Donald Butcher in 1955 and raised four children. Patsy later married Clifford H. Dittmar and became stepmom to his six children.
Patsy had numerous jobs in her life but her most important and valuable ones were that of mother and homemaker. She was an avid quilter and a member of her beloved church, Faith Lutheran, here in Fairbury, NE.
Patsy was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Doris Kutscher, both husbands, Donald Butcher and Cliff Dittmar, her youngest daughter Jill Littleton and her youngest son, Michael Butcher.
Patsy is survived by her son John (Lori) Butcher and her daughter Doris (Rob Craig) Jorgensen, her two brothers, Ronald (Betsy) Kutscher and Kenneth (Jean) Kutscher, her six stepchildren; Lyn Hemphill, Garry Dittmar, Lorna Tomlinson, Douglas Dittmar, Sheila Tracy and Mark Dittmar. Patsy is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at Faith Lutheran Church, 1630 I Street, Fairbury, NE 68352 on June 19th at 10:30am, followed by lunch at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer any donations be made to Faith Lutheran Church. Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
