Peggy Ann Sweetser

Peggy Ann Sweetser, daughter and oldest child of Lester and Irene (Schwisow) Sweetser was born May 4, 1948, in a Fairbury Hospital.  She died on June 2, 2025 at Heritage Care Center in Fairbury Nebraska.

Peggy was baptized and confirmed by the Rev. Norman Bangert in the Fairbury Grace Lutheran Church.  She graduated in 1966 from Fairbury High School. She then worked as a nurse aide at Fairbury Hospital.  In 1973 she graduated from LPN school from Fairbury Jr. College.

On August 30, 1997, Peggy married Thomas L Remmenga Sr. at the Grace Lutheran Church in Fairbury and was later divorced.

Peggy is preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Irene (Schwisow) Sweetser.  Her brothers Calvin and Gorden Sweetser, her sisters Barbara Alm and Nancy Barley.  Sister in Law Shirley Sweetser, Brother in Law John (JP) Barley and one niece and two nephews.

Survivors include Sister Lori Schaefer and significant other Paul (Barney) Barnhill, Brother Jeffery and wife Lori Sweetser, Sister in Law Debbie Sweetser and 20 nieces and nephews.

Memorials can be made to family’s choice.  A private family burial will take place at a later date.
