Phyllis N. Gross

Phyllis N. Gross, age 93 of Western, NE., passed away September 25, 2009 at Holmes Lake Manor in Lincoln, NE. She was born January 26, 1916 at Western the daughter of William and Minnie Schmidt Brunkow.


Survivors include her daughter Bonnie Strain of Lincoln, son Carmon Gross and wife Deb of Shickley, NE., 4 grandsons Josh Strain of Lincoln, Jason Gross of Lincoln, Douglas Gross and wife Stacy of Wilber, NE., Timothy Gross of Lincoln, granddaughter Olivia Gross of Wilber, sister-in-law Genevieve Kumpost and husband Henry of Wilber, sister-in-law Nadean Reade of Ft. Collins, CO., nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Harlen, brother Glennes Brunkow, sister-in-law Matilda Brunkow DeVries and brother-in-law Sidney Reade.


Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the St. John's United Church Of Christ in Western with Pastor Glenda Jardine officiating. Burial will be at the Plainview Cemetery in Western. Visitation will be on Monday from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Nuckolls-Meyer Funeral Home in Western and on Tuesday from noon until service time at the church.
