Raymond Michael "Mike" Clay

Raymond Michael (Mike) Clay, 71 of Hollenberg, KS died February 11, 2019 at Jefferson Communiity Health & Life Gardenside in Fairbury, NE.

He was born January 22, 1948 to Raymond and Audrey (Wilson) Clay in the back seat of a Buick in route to Belleville, KS.  He was the 2 ^nd of 4 boys.

He grew up in Hollenberg, KS, graduating in 1966 as valedictorian of the last class of Hollenberg High School.

Growing up, Mike enjoyed working with his hands.  He was an automobile, construction, and firearm enthusiast.  He also enjoyed tending to his garden.

In early adulthood, he spent a lot of time working in construction and later retired after many years with the United States Postal Service.  He served as the Hollenberg mayor and a member of the fire department.  And most people know of his conservative politics. He was a lifetime member of the NRA.

He was preceded in death by his son Chad Michael Clay; mother Audrey Lorraine (Wilson) Clay; father Raymond Franklin (Preach) Clay.

He is survived by his wife Sandy of Hollenberg, KS; daughter Dena and Husband Beau of York, NE; grandchildren Breana Bushnell of Lincoln, NE, Andrew, Kyleigh and Warren Bushnell of York, NE; brothers Ronald Clay and wife Cindy of Hollenberg, KS, Terry Clay of Hollenberg, KS, and Jerry Clay and wife Melanie of Odell, NE.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday February 16, 2019 at the Jansen Bible Church.

A memorial has been entrusted to the Family’s Choice.  They can be sent to the Gerdes-Meyer Funeral home in Fairbury, NE.
