Rita Louise Betham Hardy Owens, age 69 of Fairbury passed away on Friday, March 12, 2010 at her home. She was born March 28, 1940 at Auckland, New Zealand, the daughter of Hector and Luise von Reiche Betham.

Survivors include her husband Earl Owens of Fairbury, children Anita Hardy Cobb and husband Stacy of Grand Island, Nebraska, Annette Hardy Quillen of Lincoln, Nebraska, Carolyn Hardy Bahr and husband Jeff of Richmond Hills, Georgia, Wilson Hardy IV and wife Kristy of Waverly, Nebraska, Jason Hardy and wife Nichol of Lincoln, Nebraska, Galen Owens and wife Gail of Liberal, Kansas, 16 grandchildren, 1 great-grandson, siblings Roderick Betham of Yuba City, California, Maureen Forster and husband Frank of Mountain Home, Arkansas, Dulcie Betham of Wellington, New Zealand, Wayne Betham of Mountain Home, Arkansas, mother-in-law Margaret Hardy of Fairbury, sister-in-law Virginia Hardy Hutcheson of Green Valley, Arizona.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at the Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home in Fairbury. Burial will follow at the Fairbury Cemetery. Memorials are to Horisun Hospice.
