Robert "Bob" L. Mckeever

Robert (Bob) McKeever, 83, of rural Odell/Wymore area, passed away April 10th, 2017. He was born May 24th, 1933 to Lester (Buss) and Opal (Wilson) McKeever. Bob was united in marriage to Evelyn (Pavlik) on May 3rd, 1953. To this union five children were born. Bob was an army veteran, he served from July 1953 to June 1955. He was a member of the Odell American Legion Post #231 and a member of the Odell United Methodist church. While farming with his dad he worked for Consumer Public Power for 10 years, then proceeded to continue farming for his remaining life. He served on the Odell School Board. Bob enjoyed bowling, playing and coaching softball, playing cards, watching Husker sports and the Kansas City Royals. He really enjoyed animals and farming.

Bob is survived by his wife Evelyn, daughters Janice Jurgens and husband Gary, Julie and Cheryl and son Robert Jr., five grandchildren , seven great grandchildren and an additional one in June.


Bob was preceded in death by his parents, infant brother (Harold), parents-in-law, infant daughter Janet, son Jim, two sisters-in-law and three brothers-in-law.

Funeral services Friday April 14th at 10:30a.m, Odell United Methodist Church. Burial will be at the Odell Cemetery. Visitation will be at Vance Gerdes Funeral Home in Odell on Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Thursday 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. With family greeting friends and relatives from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.


In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Odell United Methodist Church and Odell Legion Post #231. Vance-Gerdes Funeral Home in Odell is in charge of arrangements.
