Rolland D Endorf

Rolland D. Endorf 83 of Tobias, NE. passed away December 27, 2017 at Gardenside LTC in Fairbury. He was born September 26, 1934 at Tobias. Survivors include Wife: Juliann Endorf of Tobias, Daughters & spouses: Denise & Vaughn Bartels of Tobias, Debra & Pete DeWald of Raymond, Daughter-in-law: Diane Endorf of Omaha, 7 Grandchildren, Sister: Jeanette Schwisow of Hickman. Services will be at 10:30 am Tuesday January 2, 2018 at Zion Lutheran Church – Tobias, NE., with Pastor Paul Beyer officiating. Burial at the Fairbury Cemetery – Fairbury, NE. The family will greet friends Monday January 1st from 4 to 6 pm at the funeral home. Memorials to the family's choice. Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home in Fairbury are in charge of arrangements.

Rolland Endorf, son of Carl and Matilida (Rohr) was born at home on the farm near Tobias, Nebraska on September 26, 1934.  He grew up in the Tobias area and graduated from Tobias High School in 1953. He married Juliann Roney, November 27, 1959, and had three children; Douglas, Denise and Debra. He was a lifelong member of the Zion Lutheran Church of Tobias.

Rolland was a farmer in the Daykin, Tobias area where he also raised livestock.  He had a deep passion for International “Red” tractors and looked forward to the chance of showing them to anyone that was interested. Rolland was a member of the Nebraska Chapter 12 IH Club for numerous years.  Rolland taught each child and grandchild how to drive a stick shift (where numerous catastrophes occurred). One of his favorite pass times were to take the tractors to different parades with his children and grandchildren where each would have their own assigned tractor to follow him in the parade.

Rolland enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.  Every Sunday, he and the family would attend the polka bands at the Milligan Social Hall where he taught his girls how to dance.

Cedarwood Assisted Living/Jefferson Community Health and Life Gardenside has been home to Rolland for the last seven years.  Much of the staff he loved as family.

He is survived by his wife Juliann; daughters Denise Bartels and husband Vaughn of Tobias ; Debra DeWald and husband Pete of Raymond; daughter-in-law Diane Endorf of Omaha; grandchildren Caresa, Drew, and Cole Endorf of Omaha, Nathan Bartels of Geneva; Erin Criner and husband Andrew of Hastings; Jarrod and Cody DeWald of Lincoln; sister, Jeanette Schwisow of Hickman; nephew Bruce Schwisow and wife Shirleen of Beatrice; and niece Barbara Traudt and husband Robert of Lincoln.

He is predeceased by his son, Douglas and brother-in-law Robert Schwisow.
