Ronald William Thomas

Ronald William Thomas was born June, 1, 1952, in Falls City, NE, to Fred & Melva (Vice) Thomas. Ron left this earthly life on August 18, 2023. He is survived by his wife Kim of 18 years. They were married on July 1, 2005. Other survivors are his children Lucas (Laura) Thomas, Lena (Craig) Vasa, Dan Helmick, Joshua (Joni) Helmick, Jennifer Ernst, 14 grandchildren, a grand-daughter-in-law, and his first great-grandchild, soon to arrive, 4 brothers, sister-in-laws, and a host of nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents and a brother Paul.

Ron graduated High School in York, NE, and entered the Navy in 1971.  After his release in 1975, he started work at Nebraska Public Power District, retiring 26 ½ years later. Taking another job of mechanic at Schultz Auto Salvage in Fairbury, NE, retiring a second time in 2015. After this retirement he enjoyed his motorcycles and his Plymouth Coupe.

Services to be held at 10:00 a.m.  Tuesday, August 22, at Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home in Fairbury. Interment at Pleasantview Cemetery, Pickrell, NE.
