Roxana M. Johnson

Roxana M. Johnson, 69, of Fairbury, passed away on June 15, 2026, at Jefferson County Health & Life Hospital. Cremation was chosen and a Celebration of Life will be held at Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home on Friday, June 19, from 5-7 P.M. In lieu of flowers, please make memorials in care of family to be designated later.

Roxana was born to Frank and Doris (Lallak) Vculek on May 15, 1957, in Fairbury. She was a lifelong resident of Fairbury. She married John Almaguer, and to this union, three children were born: Jillian, Amber, and Miles.

She enjoyed the simple things in life such as gardening, crafting, cooking, playing cards, and watching old westerns. Her family and friends were always her number one priority. Roxana had a fiery personality as well as a kind and loving heart. Her memory will no doubt live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her brothers Earl and Robert Vculek and her parents Frank and Doris Vculek.

Roxana is survived by daughters Jillian Almaguer and Amber Eldrington; son Miles Almaguer; sisters Wanda (Doug) Gibson and Carolyn Kolars; brothers Frank (June) Vculek and Anthony Vculek; grandchildren Marcus, Marlaney and Malanah Deras; great grandson Brennan, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
